GLYCOLIC PEELS (30%,50%,70%)

During the glycolic peel process, the skin sheds dead cells revealing a smoother, moister, and fresher skin surface. A Glycolic Peel stimulates your body’s natural production of collagen and elastin. It also loosens built-up oil and dirt in the pores, thus reducing the development of pimples and blemishes while minimizing the appearance of the pores. Our peels are available in varying strengths of glycolic acid, an all-natural substance derived from sugar cane, which will be formulated to help you achieve the results you desire.

MANDELIC ACID PEELS

This is a favorite at Chelsea Laser and Aesthetics. It is derived from almonds, a gentle peel that tightens pores while it exfoliates. It especially makes the skin glow in a healthy way. Patients enjoy this peel just before an important event in order to look fresh and healthy.

PEPPERMINT PEELS

A practice favorite from Copenhagen, Denmark. There is a mild peppermint peel and an intense peppermint peel. Patients tell us how relaxing and soothing this treatment makes them feel.

PMP Peppermint Peel Mild is the softer of the two innovative chemical peels. It has been formulated at a lower strength to penetrate more superficial than PMP Intense, which makes it useful for reducing pigmentations, fine lines and enlarged pores. It is a revitalizing skincare treatment that effectively treats chrono-aged and photo-aged skin by removing aging cells and stimulating new cell growth. Peppermint Peel Mild is made from a combination of 5 different acids including 11% TCA, 6 moisturizers, and peptides with immediate effects. Furthermore, the non-toxic chemical peels contains menthol, which cools the skin during the process and provides optimal comfort during the treatment. There is no pain or downtime.

Chemical Peel Procedure

During a TCA or phenol peel, the skin is cleansed and the solution is applied, which may cause a brief stinging sensation. Petroleum jelly or a waterproof adhesive tape may be put on the skin following a phenol peel. During an AHA peel, the skin is cleansed and the solution applied; there is no need for post-peel ointment or covering.

Side Effects of Chemical Peels

A phenol or TCA peel can result in tingling or throbbing, reddened skin, a crust or scab, and significant swelling that lasts, depending on the strength of the peel used, about a week. With a phenol peel, eyes may be swollen shut at first, and the patient may be put on a liquid diet and advised to keep talking to a minimum. Any tape used is removed after a day or two. AHA peels can cause temporary stinging, redness and irritation, as well as flaking or crusting. After a chemical peel, it is essential that the skin be protected from the sun.
