BOTOX® Cosmetic Treatment
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the first treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
One 10-minute treatment of a few tiny injections can create noticeable improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, which can last up to four months. Results may vary. Our staff at Chelsea Medicine and Laser have trained with Drs. Jean and Alastair Carruthers, who are the physicians who invented Botox,
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time.
Additional Uses for Botox
Our physicians are advanced injectors of BOTOX® Cosmetic and are trained to inject other areas of the face and body than just the forehead. Examples of additional uses are: lip lines, sagging corners of the mouth, migraine, TMJ, muscle tension headaches, anal fissures, chronic pelvic pain and hyperhidrosis (sweating).

Restore volume and fullness to skin with Juvederm
Juvederm Ultra XC
Juvederm Ultra XC is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. It is composed of non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the human body. Juvederm is fully biocompatible. There is limited risk of animal-based disease transmission or development of allergic reactions to animal proteins. No allergy testing is required before use.
Juvederm maintains its shape using the body’s own moisture. The hyaluronic acid in Juvederm is hydrophilic or “water loving.” As hyaluronic acid gradually degrades, each molecule binds to more water and over time, the same volume can be maintained with less hyaluronic acid. This ability of hyaluronic acid to bind to water is what helps provide long-lasting results.
Unlike rooster-derived hyaluronic acids and bovine collagen products, Juvederm is free from animal proteins. This limits any risk of animal-based disease transmissions or development of allergic reactions to animal proteins.
Juvederm Ultra Plus XC
Juvederm Ultra Plus XC restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). After your treatment, you might have some swelling, redness, pain, and bruising. This will normally last less than seven days. Although rare, red or swollen small bumps may also occur. If you have had cold sores before, an injection can cause them to return. In rare circumstances, the doctor may inject into a blood vessel, which can damage the skin. To avoid bruising and bleeding, you should not use Ultra Plus XC if you have recently used drugs that thin your blood or prevent clotting. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 18, you shouldn’t use Juvederm.

Juvederm Voluma XC
Juvederm Voluma XC is the first and only FDA-approved filler to instantly add volume to the cheek area in people over the age of 21. Volume loss in the cheeks is a major reason we lose that youthful profile over the years.
- Gives a subtle lift
- Helps restore contour for up to 2 years
- Look up to 5 years younger
- Contains a modified hyaluronic acid (HA) derived from a naturally occurring complex.
Voluma is injected under the skin with a small needle. It works instantly to add volume and subtly lift the cheek area, temporarily reversing this sign of aging. It also contains a numbing agent called Lidocaine, to reduce pain during the procedure. The more youthful profile you can achieve fro the procedure lasts up to 2 years with optimal treatment.
In the clinical study, people perceived themselves to look 5 years younger 6 months after treatment. The average volume injected during the clinical study was 6.8ml to achieve optimal correction for the cheek area. Three areas of the cheek are injected: apex, apple, hallow. The average person tends to use 4-6 syringes or more.
